What can help genealogists in a local history museum? Learn about oral histories, biography records, property records, historic newspapers, artifacts, and yearbooks that can reveal information about ancestors. In addition, learn about the Colorado Historic Newspaper Database and the Golden High School digitized yearbook collection and other resources available to genealogists at the Golden History Museum (GHM&P).

Stephanie Gilmore, curator for (GHM&P), oversees the collections and exhibits. Previously, she was curator of collections at the Colorado Railroad Museum. She has worked as a registrar, collections manager, curator, and conservation technician at the Denver Art Museum, CU Boulder Museum of Natural History, Molly Brown House, and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Stephanie has a B.A. in anthropology with an emphasis in archaeology and an M.A.in museum studies and archaeology.

Vanya Scott, curatorial assistant for GHM&P, assists with all aspects of curatorial management, including tagging and cataloging artifacts, maintaining the database, and preparing artifacts for display. She has worked in collections management for over 25 years, as Curator for the National Atomic Testing Museum in Las Vegas, and most recently as Registrar for the National Law Enforcement Museum in Washington, D.C.
