How to Use Family Search & Family Search Labs to Further Your Research

Presented by Barbara Elliott, genealogy educator

Learn practical ways to enhance your genealogy research using FamilySearch and the new tools being developed through FamilySearch Labs. Barbara will share tips for going beyond basic searches, including how to use the catalog, browse image-only collections, and apply flexible search strategies to uncover hidden records. She also will introduce emerging Labs features that use new technology to improve record discovery, image analysis, and transcription. Whether you are new to FamilySearch or a longtime user, this program promises fresh ideas and helpful techniques to support your family history research.

Barbara Elliott is an experienced family historian and genealogy educator who enjoys helping others discover new tools and techniques for successful research. She has extensive experience using FamilySearch and keeps up with emerging technologies that support family history work, including the developing features in FamilySearch Labs. Barbara is known for her clear, practical presentations that help researchers at all skill levels gain confidence and make new discoveries to make genealogical research more efficient and rewarding.
